The Nude and Basic Anatomy
In this class, we begin by studying the human skeleton, learning about skeletal proportions and how this complex structure fits together. We will then apply this knowledge to drawing the human figure from paintings in reproduction. Through understanding the logic of the underlying forms of the body, we can draw the surface with more fluency and conviction.
We will talk about the nude as a concept and learn about its history. Students will then be introduced to the major muscle groups and learn how to locate them on the model. In the final lesson, we will have an unclothed life model pose for us, and we will put all we have learnt about anatomy into practice.
All artist-quality materials are included in the price of the classes.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are also provided
