Emily Bird serves as the Art Technician at Queen Street Art School. She holds a Fine Art degree with a specialisation in illustrative collage techniques. Her artistic practice is deeply inspired by the ocean, though her work also encompasses a diverse range of media, including sculpture, printmaking, and photography. WHAT IS OUR MISSION?
Children are naturally creative. It’s our mission to provide them with the learning, encouragement, materials and space to uncover their creativity and allow it blossom to its fullest potential. Fostering creativity is an important aspect of childhood development, which may not be fully realised through the school curriculum. Creativity feeds the soul and the desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human experience, it has the power to make us truly happy.
"Art washes away from the soul the dust of the everyday life"
- PICASSO
Our adult workshops are a mix of technical instruction - covering proportions, perspective, and colour mixing, with a balance between discipline and play. Gentle structure and encouragement sit alongside plenty of room to experiment with style, materials, and techniques. All sessions use high-quality art materials in a friendly, relaxed environment.
